If you are new to Nokia smartphone you may be unaware of these useful secret codes available in your 5530 XpressMusic. Just by pressing few keys on your phone’s virtual keyboard you can retrieve quite useful information.
- #0000# - Entering this code gives the firmware version of your phone’s software.Check your firmware version and make sure that you have the latest updated firmware.Newer firmware is made in order to rectify bugs and provide new features.
- #06# - IMEI(International Mobile Equipment Identity)Number – IMEI number is like Finger print.Each mobile phone has a unique IMEI number.
- #7780# - This code restores the original factory settings without affecting any of your files.It is also called soft reset.
- #7370# - This code will completely format your phone deleting all your files.It will take your software to the same state, as you first received your phone.Use this code only if something wrong happens with your phone’s software like virus attack.It is also called hard reset.
- #2820# – This code tells your device’s bluetooth ID.It can be used for manually adding bluetooth devices.
- #62209526# - Shows MAC address of the WLAN adapter.This will be useful while connecting to internet through your phone’s Wifi connection.
- #92702689# – Life Timer – Shows total call minutes since very first call.

My problem on updating my 5530xm is the installation itself.. I always encounter disconnection on my phone to my pc whenever I start the installation update… But the instructions says “do not bother on the disconnection notification of the pc”… And end up into a device recovery… I could not update my phone… Could someone help??is these secrate code help in that??

Thanks a lot for sharing this codes for the 5530 XpressMusic. With other phones I have never been a big fan of codes, hacks, etc, but I don't know why the 5530 has gotten much more attention from me. Perhaps is the touchscreen that makes it easier to play a more with it :)
Some of these diagnostics codes come in very handy when your looking to fix a problem or alter your firmware in some way, for instance, an update.

I would be happy to see similar codes for BlackBerry keyboard, iPhone and Android.
iPhone has a lot of keyboard tricks, but I'm sure there are other "secrets" to learn.

I have read somewhere more codes that are applicable to almost all nokia phones. It can display the things stated above as well as from what country your phone was made. I'll get back here if I have found that site again.

Most of the later smartphones I know (I'm currently using a Nokia N82) use the "three finger press" for hard reset. If the code here doesn't work for you, try that method instead.
Turn of your phone, then press and hold the call button, asterisk, and the number 3. Hold and release until the Nokia with the hands image shows.

These secret codes are almost the same for any nokia cellphone and not just for nokia 5530. Anyways thanks for share.

if your nokia n97 crashes and not open at all,press shift space and backspace and power button.left pwbutton and keep hold the other three buttons until phone starts.enjoyyy
